This Will Destroy You

This Will Destroy You lays down tracks from new album with John Congleton at the studio

If you don’t know already, This Will Destroy You are post-rock gods. Instrumental glory that rivals the likes of Explosions in the Sky, Russian Circles, and Mogwai. It is this type of instrumental ambient music that John Congleton as a producer is known for. TWDY are San Markos, Texas natives who love to drink cases of Miller High Life. Their music has been featured on the likes of ‘Pellham 1,2,3′ trailer with John Travolta and Samuel Jackson, not mention other publications. The guys own a personal recording studio in Waxahachie, Texas but record their professional releases elsewhere. Their last EP was split with Lymbyc Systym and also recorded by John Congleton. Both bands reside on the label Magic Bullet Records, which has housed such acts as the All American Rejects. Never fear, This Will Destroy You does not lose their sense of Beatles production like other indie bands. On this release they incorporate instruments such as the Stylophone, and other merry bells and whistles to the mix. The music of This Will Destroy You just recently served as background music to the 2010 Winter Olympics and they can be seen on tour with fellow indie rock instrumentalists Chiaroscuro. Finally, if one looks carefully they will notice the violinist featured in the video below is a member of St. Vincent!
