Scott Mccurry & The Mercenaries record “Go On and Do Your Thing”

Scott Mccurry and Drew North strike again, this time with their latest full length release; “Go On and Do Your Thing.” Mccurry and The Mercenaries hired the session work of Regina Spektor drummer McKenzie Smith for a few of the tracks. The session was one of the first to put the studio to task considering the number of musicians recording in a live format. The natural acoustics of the studio complimented the horn and string sections. During the time of recording Mccurry was on label “Left Turn Music,” created by producer Elliott Mazer (Neil Young – Harvest, The Band – The Last Waltz, etc.) Miscommunication set in however and Mccurry and the gang was contractually released from all of their obligations with Mazer. Sadly, after an extensive tour of the southwest, most of the group disbanded. Don’t discount the Mercenaries though, Mccurry will rise again!
