Sarah Jaffe

Sarah Jaffe from Denton, Texas records ‘Suburban Nature’ with John Congleton at The Track

Sarah Jaffe entered the studio with Pleasant Grove/Boom Boom Box/Myopic member Jeff Ryan on drums and percussion and Robert Gomez (Bella Union) trading off duties on electric guitar. Other sessions regular Kris Youmans (booking at the Granada Theater) played cello throughout the recording process. He is Jaffe’s manager and live cello player as well. Most of the recording sessions took place with the aid of Robert Gomez’s favorite beer; Amstelle. Upon leaving the studio, Jaffe apparently got signed to Deep Blue Something’s (Breakfast at Tiffany’s) label Kirtland Records and her work now resides on ITunes. Jaffe is a proud pescetarian and ended some of the studio days around the crock pot serving up stew. Sarah just recently finished up a tour with Midlake in Europe and can be seen around the Denton scene regularly. Sarah has also toured with the likes of Lykke Li and Norah Jones, who is also from Denton’s UNT elite.
